Single Vehicle Crash Sends Montana City Woman to HospitalSunday, March 8 2009Montana City - Montana City Volunteer firefighters were paged to a single-vehicle crash on Saddle Mountain Drive shortly after 9 pm Sunday night. Responders found the lone accident victim unconscious upon arrival at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was pinned in the wreckage. Firefighters used a hydraulic spreader, commonly known as "jaws of life" to extricate to the victim, who regained consciousness during their efforts. According to Montana Highway Patrolman, Conner Smith, speed was a factor in the accident in addition to the vehicle traveling too fast for conditions on the sanded, snow-packed road. Responders with Eagle Ambulance worked with Montana City firefighters to stabilize and extricate the woman from the mangled wreckage, transferring her to a St. Peter's Hospital Advanced Life Support Ambulance for transport to St. Peter's Hospital in Helena. Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy, Dave Kosola, assisted Patrolman Smith with gathering evidence The accident is under investigation. © Montana City Volunteer Fire Department 2009 - Any Reuse Must Include a Link to http://www.montanacityfire.org![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
